Denim Fabric
Denim fabric is a special woven twill fabric dyed with natural blue indigo color.
The name Denim stems from the french city of "Nimes". Denim or "De Nimes (From Nimes)". Denim became very popular with the early settlers in the USA who were in need of very durable clothing in order to cope with the then very rigid environment.
Currently there are many different denim fabric types available.
Stretch Denim which is most popular with women. Dyed Denim like black Denim, which does not use indigo as a dye agent. Polyester denim to offer more variety when it comes to different surfaces and shiny effects. Denim over dye to add different colors and of course, most importantly the many types of fabric washes. The most common are, rinse wash, stone wash, enzyme wash and chlorine bleach. Also sandblast effects (now replaced by surface activation) , brushed surfaces, and many others.
Denim has proven to be one of the most versatile fabrics in use.
