Tatami Embroidery 06-01-2014
Tatami Embroidery
Tatami embroidery or also known as fill stitch is the most simple way to cover areas using embroidery. Unlike satin which just stitches from outline to outline, tatami is filling the whole space with stitches. The needle normally goes in rows, so the main direction must be given. If the direction is 45 degrees, the whole stitching will follow in parallel lines to the original stitching line. Tatami is the easiest way to fill large areas. It can also be used to make the base layer for other types of embroideries which will be later added on top.
